The fine print
Terms & Policies
The practical details of commissioning from Threadpaw — payment, timelines, DTDs, refunds, and shipping. Read this before putting down a deposit; ask before signing off if anything is unclear.
Draft notice: the sections below are placeholders with suggested structure, flagged individually. Final wording needs sign-off from the studio owner before this page goes live to customers.
Payment plans & deposits
Placeholder — pending owner reviewA non-refundable deposit of [deposit %—e.g. 30%] of the quoted price secures your slot in the queue. The remaining balance is split into [number of installments and schedule], due before the suit ships.
Accepted payment methods: [PayPal / Stripe invoice / other].
Turnaround
Placeholder — pending owner reviewTypical turnaround from deposit to delivery is [X–Y months, by suit type]. Turnaround is an estimate, not a guarantee — queue position, reference clarity, and revision rounds all affect it. You'll get WIP updates as your build moves through Design → Foam → Fur → Finish (see the commission queue).
Rush requests: [policy, if any].
Duct-tape dummy (DTD) requirements
Placeholder — pending owner reviewA DTD is required before build start on any suit with a bodysuit component (partial, three-quarter, full). Head-only commissions do not require one.
Specification: [materials, measurement guide link, deadline relative to deposit date]. If you need one made, we send a kit and instructions — see the DTD question on the custom form.
Builds without an approved DTD by [deadline] may lose their queue slot.
Refunds & cancellation
Placeholder — pending owner reviewDeposits are non-refundable once a slot is confirmed — [confirm/adjust]. If you cancel after work has started, you're billed for [work completed / a flat cancellation fee], and any unused balance is refunded within [N business days].
If Threadpaw needs to cancel a commission (health, capacity, unforeseen circumstances), you receive [full refund of unearned balance / other policy].
Shipping
Placeholder — pending owner reviewSuits ship via [carrier(s), domestic & international] in a hard case or reinforced box. Shipping cost is [included in the quote / billed separately at cost] and quoted once your address and suit size are known.
Insurance & tracking: [included by default? optional add-on?]. Threadpaw is [not responsible / responsible up to X] for loss or damage in transit once a tracked, insured shipment has been handed to the carrier.
